Introduction to Vietnamese Coffee
Arabica coffee thrives in high mountainous regions, typically grown at altitudes of 1,000 to 1,500 meters. The tree has a large canopy, dark green leaves, and an oval shape. A mature coffee tree can reach heights of 4 to 6 meters, while in the wild, it can grow up to 15 meters tall. The fruit is oval-shaped, containing two seeds per fruit. Arabica is the most economically valuable among coffee species.
On the coffee market, Arabica is always highly regarded for its delicious flavor. The price of Arabica coffee is typically twice that of Robusta. Arabica represents nearly 70% of high-quality coffee products worldwide. This variety originates from the tropical highlands of Ethiopia in East Africa. Brazil and Colombia are the two main exporters of this type of coffee, and the quality of their coffee is highly esteemed. In Vietnam, Lam Dong Province, particularly in areas like Di Linh, Bao Loc, Don Duong, and the outskirts of Da Lat, is considered the paradise of Arabica coffee. This region boasts "golden indices," with altitudes of 1,500 meters, a temperate climate year-round, maximum temperatures not exceeding 33 degrees, and minimum temperatures around 5 degrees. This is the highest quality Arabica coffee-producing area in the country. The higher the elevation and the cooler the climate, the better the quality of Arabica coffee beans produced.
Arabica has a bright acidity balanced with a mild bitterness, producing a light amber color. The aroma of Arabica is elegant and refined, featuring notes of syrup, fruity scents, honey, toasted bread, and the smell of sunlit straw fields in summer. Arabica captivates even the most discerning coffee connoisseurs worldwide. It is the main ingredient in the most famous coffee brands and companies.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of information and awareness about premium coffee, most Vietnamese people do not realize that coffee can have a sour taste. Many Vietnamese believe that coffee is only bitter and cannot be sour. The bright acidity, mild bitterness, and enchanting aroma of Arabica are a precious gift from nature, awakening a passionate love for coffee among enthusiasts. Arabica, with its alluring flavor, embodies femininity, representing grace and delicacy like a beautiful woman. Arabica is the noble passion of the most discerning coffee lovers in the world.
